Joel Bird, Liverpool artist, is flying in from the UK for this great occasion. He is an artist of many talents, visual and performing. Bird states, “I am interested in the harmony and tension between opposing forces. I visualize the interaction between what is internal and external as a flow of form that composes a framework which allows stability (reality) to exist”. On his last tour to the US in 2008 he sold work to private and public collections in Philadelphia, Allentown, Daytona, Florida and New York. While Bird has seen many parts of the world he has a special place in his heart for Pennsylvania. In this exhibit he is focusing more on our harmony with the natural world. He feels Pennsylvania has some magical countryside and finds Pennsylvanians in general have a wonderfully healthy attitude towards the outdoors. The works show landscapes and people interacting with their environments. He has also exhibited throughout England and Scotland and applications for residencies in Europe has achieved a recent invite to the Florence Biennial.

Bird’s work spans different aspects of audio visual media. He has composed music for Film, TV, Animation, Theatre & Audio Books. TV and Film clients include The BBC, Channel 4, The mother group, Diplomat films, Between the Eyes & Jab Productions. He has held the post of Musical director in the Unity Theatre, Liverpool and worked in pop music for Universal USA and GUT records UK, working with bands such as Space and Elvis Costello.

Jimmer Breen is a surreal artist at heart with a love for the human form and face. According to Breen, “I am drawn to our physical selves; our features, expressions, movements… After all, we are magnificent machines”. Breen received a BFA from West Chest University and was a recipient of the “Jack Gardener Hawthorne Award for Excellence in Painting”. His work has been exhibited throughout the Greater Delaware Valley and his art in is the home of many private collectors including a demand for mural work.
