In June of 2008 Jonathan and Leigh Slingluff opened Studio 27.28 with the idea of bringing art work that was not being shown in Philadelphia to Philadelphia, work that they believe in, work that they would stand behind, show casing artists from not just the Philadelphia area but from all over the world. In July of 2009, just over a year they moved there gallery to the Fishtown-Northern Liberties area and changed there name to The Slingluff Gallery. Not changing there ideas as to why they opened in the first place, but to offer the work that they show to a larger crowd.
