Lauren Rinaldi, along with over forty other artists, will be opening her studio doors to the public at the 915 Studio Building as a participant in this year’s Philadelphia Open Studio Tours. The works on display, once described as seductively repugnant, tell an intricate and personal story exploring the meanings of encountering the unexpected through her engaging and vibrant paintings. She uses her own body and experiences to talk about issues of identity, self exploration, gender, and very literally, the form and function of the human body.

This will mark Lauren’s first year taking part in the Philadelphia Open Studio Tours. She is a Brooklyn born artist who has lived in Lancaster County, PA, has a BFA in painting and drawing from Tyler School of Art, and also studied at Temple University, Rome. This year she has shown her work at Paradigm Gallery in their An Accidental Masterpiece/Found exhibition and has participated in various juried and group shows throughout Philadelphia. She is the recent recipient of a juror’s recognition award at the Manayunk-Roxborough 3rd Annual Juried Exhibition. A Philadelphia resident, she lives in the Fishtown section of the city with her husband and son.
